As a Shipping Administrator here, you’ll undertake all administration duties, to prepare accurate and efficient shipping documentation to ensure a seamless transition of goods to our customers and through our supply chain. The Shipping Administrator will undertake all administration duties.

Contract: Permanent

Location: Minworth, Sutton Coldfield

Hours of Work: 8.30 am – 5.00 pm, Mon – Fri (37.5hrs per week)

Salary: £27k per annum

Responsibilities:

  • Run the range – Print off daily works orders and process ready to go out to Production including printing cut plans and Mill Certs
  • Process IP (Inventory process) on works orders as they come into the department ensuring stock is cut accurately and stock returns and scraps are allocated correctly
  • Create Bill of Lading (Delivery Note) and Certificate of Conformance paperwork for all works orders accurately, efficiently and within Promise Dates
  • Communicate with sales to ensure correct shipping terms are aligned to the orders and the goods incur no delays due to AMS errors
  • Is a trained signatory to ensure quality compliance when signing off shipping documents
  • Create export paperwork (customs invoices, shipping headers, all relevant export shipping documentation)
  • Identify any issues and resolve them before for the goods leave AMS to ensure we can maintain customer satisfaction
  • Communicate with outside haulage and shipping companies to obtain quotes, EAD’s and to ensure a smooth handover of the goods takes place with all necessary documentation provided
  • Communicate with the despatch team to ensure the correct material is pulled and loaded
  • Ensure freight costs are correct and added to the system to ensure goods can be invoiced correctly by finance
  • Scan all documentation to the system in line with AMS and customer processes
  • Ensure all filing is organized and relevant information stored correctly to maintain legal compliance
  • Manages and maintains the relevant OBS statuses to ensure work does not exceed 5 days

 

What We Require:

  • Must have shipping (import, export or freight) experience
  • An understanding of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Good understanding of business
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work using own initiative
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to communicate with individuals at all levels
  • Good team working skills
  • Time management
  • Honesty and integrity
