Job Title: CNC Programmer
Location: Loughborough
Salary: Up to £18 per hour + Overtime (1.5x – avg. of 5 hours p/ week) Working on a day’s only shift pattern – Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM and a 1PM finish on a Friday.

About the Company

The Company is based in Loughborough – 30 minutes’ drive from Leicester, 35 minutes’ drive from Nottingham, and 45 minutes’ drive from Derby. The company is quite new, but the majority of the 28 people working on the shop floor have been working together from the same manufacturing facility for several years. There is a strong sense of togetherness throughout the team and a strong work ethic. Directors and investors saved the jobs of all these people not so long ago, and it is exciting for everyone that they are growing by diversifying into new markets.

The facility is a joinery workshop with machining areas for volume production. The shop floor skills dynamic is mostly skilled bench joiners, CNC Machine Loaders, Setters and Operators. All goods manufactured here are wood and it is recommended or obligatory to wear face masks in some manufacturing areas. Manufactured items include doors, shop fittings and retail displays.

The Role:

They are currently seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join their team. This position is primarily working in the office, developing and optimising CNC programs using AlphaCAM. You will occasionally be required on the factory floor to test new programs and assist with prototypes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and modify CNC programs using AlphaCAM.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure accurate and efficient programming for custom orders.
  • Assist in prototyping and testing new programs on the factory floor.
  • Ensure all programs meet quality and safety standards.
  • Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in CNC programming, preferably within the woodworking industry.
  • Proficiency in AlphaCAM or similar software.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Benefits:

Overtime opportunities. There are no guarantees, but workload is busy, orders are strong and there may be periods where regular chance for time and one half paid overtime after 40 hours worked is available. There may be times they really hope you will work overtime because there are customers relying on them delivering at short notice.

Weekly pay. 25 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays
