Their products are sold to top breweries around the world, contributing essential flavours to the brewing process. The company’s facility specialises in extracting valuable compounds from hops, including essential oils, alpha acids, beta acids, and antimicrobial properties.
Position: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Kent
Hours: Weekly rotating shifts (6 am – 2 pm, 2 pm – 10 pm), Monday to Friday
Salary: £44,000 – £49,000 per annum (includes shift allowance)
Benefits: 9% employer pension contribution (2% employee contribution, with the option to increase), 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, Bupa Private Health and Bupa Wellness Cash Plan, access to MyBenefits flexible benefits, bonus scheme, free on-site parking, and overtime opportunities (1.5x for Saturday and 2x for Sunday).
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and repair of machinery in four main areas:
- Steam Distillation Units
- Steam Extraction
- CO2 Extraction
- Mixing and Blending Machinery
- Work with various components, including pumps, motors, steam and condensate systems, pipework, and compressed air systems
- Handle processes involving solvents and chemicals (acids) within a safe, regulated environment
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in the production process, including the use of new technologies and lean six sigma practices
- Work as part of a team, with two engineers per shift, supporting continuous improvement activities and innovation at the site
What we require:
- Electrical and mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work on a range of systems, including steam and condensate systems, pumps, and pneumatics
- Knowledge of industrial systems and processes, with a focus on chemicals and food grade standards
- Understanding of the value of quality control and maintenance processes in a highly technical production environment
Recruitment Process:
First Interview: Meet with the Operations Director and Engineering Manager for technical questions and a full site tour, with introductions to the team.
Second Interview: Meet with HR and another manager for a values-based interview to assess cultural fit and alignment with the company’s values.
