Shift Pattern: Rotating Shifts – 37.5 hrs per week

Week 1:  6 am – 2 pm, Mon – Fri

Week 2: 2 pm – 12 pm, Mon – Wed Plus Thurs 2 pm – 11.30 pm

Salary: £28,501 (£24,901pa plus £15 shift allowance)

Location: Minworth, Sutton Coldfield (B76)

Responsibilities:

  • Following drawings and work orders to cut materials to size and correct thickness
  • Checking materials and carrying out quality checks
  • Inspecting first off, using tape, micrometers and calliper instruments
  • Stamping and labelling finished goods
  • Checks to material allocated to be cut, length, width, thickness, spec, alloy, grain direction, lot number before cutting
  • Performs daily housekeeping including the surrounding work area and metal saw.
  • Performs stock take duties when required
  • Operate the band saw safely and efficiently, adhering to all health and safety standards
  • Verify materials and cut plans to ensure precision before cutting
  • Perform quality checks on cut pieces using measuring instruments
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks on the saw and assist with housekeeping
  • Operate fork trucks and jib cranes as required, ensuring productivity sheets are completed daily

What we require:

  • Proven experience as a Saw Operator, specifically with band saws
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to safety protocols
  • Knowledge of cutting specifications and quality control measures
  • Ability to lift up to 20kgs and perform manual handling tasks
  • Team player with effective communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean workspace
